In the state of Oregon, funding for schools continues to be a challenge.  The students served by these schools are the future of America’s work force and the drivers of our local economy.  These projects are designed to reduce energy costs for the school as well as provide educational opportunities.  This includes lesson plans and teacher support for introducing renewable energy in the classroom.  In addition, roof repair and/or replacement may be included in the project at no additional cost to the school.

One 30 Kilowatt installation generates enough power for multiple classrooms.  The reduction in energy cost as well as the enhanced price stability is an appreciated benefit, especially with the recent and expected rate increases.  This is an intelligent investment today that will pay quality dividends in the future.

In addition to finances, there are other ways to benefit from this project.  Our partnership with Bonneville Environmental Foundation includes the integration of the system’s data within the school’s technical curriculum, thus providing a “hands-on” experience with the system.  A highly visible and interactive kiosk as well as a tailored educational website will be maintained and accessible to individual classrooms.  For an example of this website, please visit: Solar 4R Schools.
