Real Energy Solutions (RES), a division of RealCom Associates, LLC (RealCom), was founded in February of 2006 by Sandra Walden and Rod Hanson and is a full service Renewable Energy Development firm that provides Feasibility Studies for wind and solar resources along with preliminary design and financing options, Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal Design Services, Financial Structuring and funding, Program and Project Management, Site Acquisition, Land Use and Building Permit Services, Construction Management, Technical Construction services and Governmental Relations. Commercial Solar Ventures (CSV) is a subsidiary of RES focusing on large commercial (over 200 kW) turnkey solar projects that facilitate the financing of third party solar projects. We are committed to providing high quality services by proactively focusing on clients needs, exceeding their expectations and delivering innovative solutions.


Renewable Feasibility Studies

Real Energy Solutions provides renewable energy feasibility studies focusing on energy resource availability, design to meet specified client objectives, payback, financing options including direct purchase, Power Purchase Agreements, Flip Structure or leasing, funding sources from Federal, State and utilities as well as monetization of tax credits.


Finance Structuring and Funding

Real Energy Solutions as Commercial Solar Ventures provides an extensive and flexible financial model that allows clients to achieve their renewable energy goals by deciphering how to monetize the federal and state (if available) tax credits, accelerated depreciation, utility incentives and renewable energy credits. We have a model that allows the host to own the system sooner than a standard Power Purchase Agreement, however, the PPA is available if it is most desirable.


Site Acquisition Services

Real Energy Solutions thru RealCom has a well-trained, experienced, real estate staff that works to develop site-by-site strategies that ensure quality and success. Our site acquisition specialists pride themselves in providing advanced knowledge in lease and easement negotiations and renegotiations and are highly focused on quality, cost minimization and meeting our client's goals.

Our site acquisition philosophy begins with the idea that the key to a smooth and timely project is the investigative work done in the first few weeks. Our fast-track review process provides initial information regarding existing land-use and political conditions that can make the difference between a speedy deployment and jurisdictional gridlock. Using our experience and relationships with potential landlords and existing landlords, we are able to effectively negotiate on behalf of our clients, while preserving their image within the community.

As jurisdictional regulations continue to become more restrictive, it is crucial that our clients anticipate these regulations and incorporate them into their designs. The key to success is providing a balance of what the client needs while meeting the regulations of the community where the project is being deployed.

Project History

Real Energy Solutions and Commercial Solar Ventures has provided feasibility studies to small and large companies in Oregon, we were key to financing Portland Habilitation Centers 857 kW solar facility and the recent installation on the Ecotrust building in NW Portland. There are two large City projects underway and several school projects to be installed in the summer of 2009. RealCom has worked on hundreds of projects (larger and small) over the years.
